Minister Han Changfu meets Mexican counterpart

Minister Han Changfu met with Jose Eduardo Calzada Rovirosa, Minister of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico, in Beijing on December 7, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on further enhancing China-Mexico agricultural cooperation.
Minister Han pointed out that both China and Mexico are important agricultural producers in the world and enjoy time-honored agricultural civilizations. The two countries are highly complementary in agriculture, and the exchange visits between the two ministries in the second half of the year showed that both sides attach great importance to bilateral agricultural cooperation. China is confident and ready to develop practical cooperation with Mexico in building China-Mexico agricultural cooperation demonstration center and joint fishery research center, and boost agricultural trade and investment.
Jose Eduardo Calzada Rovirosa totally agreed with Minister Han on his remarks and expressed the willingness to promote exchanges and cooperation in variety improvement and breeding for corn and other crops, agricultural product quality and safety traceability system, fishery recourses conservation and aquaculture. Besides, he also said that he is looking forward to attending the 2016 G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting in China.
Chief Economist and Director General of the General Office of MOA Bi Meijia attended the meeting.
